Conventional wisdom claims that Americans tend to be bias towards peoples past personalities than their personality in the present. For example, in the podcast " The Personality Myth" when the lady goes to the prison and meets Dan a prisoner at the prison. She meets him and he is not like your normal prisoner he is a very changed person because he was very nice and did not act like a regular prisoner.  But after meeting Dan and knowing that he is very nice and changed she finds out what he did to get in prison. Dan raped someone that's how he got in to prison but Dan says prison changed him in a good way he learns that he just need to do the right thing and stay away from all those bad things that got him in prison and he told her that. Even after find out all that stuff she couldn’t get past that he was a rapist. She questioned if people can really change or are you who you are for what you did in your past. Although I agree with her point, I cannot accept her overall conclusion because I feel like it is a person choice if they want to change from there bad way, I think people can influence them to change but I also see where she is coming from because if you and rape someone can you really change. After listening and discussing this podcast I learned that it's up to the person to change their way to change their personality. i like this podcast the most because I could relate with lady and her point of views.
